Who are we?
Third Place Communities (TPC) is a group of people in Hobart, who seek to follow Jesus as learners and apprentices in everyday life (disciples who make disciples).
Our community gathers throughout the week in missional communities that function like extended families. We meet in homes, eat together, pray together and serve the wider community in practical ways.
We also meet twice a month as a collective to celebrate (worship service) and learn (discipleship training).
We would love you to contact us and get involved!
These are held on 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at Hobart City Churches of Christ, 8 Goulburn Street, Hobart (4:00pm – 5:30pm).
Our worship service is a place to be refreshed (1st Sunday). We worship, preach, share communion and run a children’s program for families. We also eat a meal together from 5:30pm-6:30pm for anyone who wishes to join us.
Our discipleship training is a place to grow (3rd Sunday). We provide practical skills training, discuss ideas and encourage one another to adopt new habits.
Our next gathering date(s):
- Sunday May 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Worship Service + Meal)
- Sunday May 20 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Discipleship Training)
- Sunday June 10 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm (Worship Service + Meal)
- Sunday June 17 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Discipleship Training)
- Sunday July 1 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm(Worship Service + Meal)|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every month that begins at 4:00pm on day First of the month, repeating until 2, December 2018
Missional Communities are mid-sized groups of 15-30 people, meeting in houses and social spaces across Hobart (i.e. Risdon Vale and South Hobart). We practice hospitality and celebrate life together. We serve our neighbourhood. We nurture the spiritual formation of individuals and families through intentional all-of-life discipleship.
We also run discipleship training groups (Huddles and Discovery Bible Studies) for anyone wishing to deepen their faith in Jesus.
Risdon Vale Bike Collective
As an incorporated non-profit association, we also govern non-religious youth mentoring initiatives such as the Risdon Vale Bike Collective.
The Risdon Vale Bike Collective exists to create a better future for young people.
We work with local young people to increase work readiness skills and further recreational opportunities in and around Risdon Vale. We also aim to build healthy community around the restoring and riding of bicycles.
Third Place Communities manage this project in partnership with funding bodies, schools, neighbourhood centres and various local charities and businesses.
